Lifetime Achievement Award TGMA 2025: Full List of Winners at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards
The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) took center stage at the Grand Arena in Accra with an evening filled with glitz, culture, and unforgettable performances. The annual event, regarded as the most prestigious celebration of music in Ghana, once again brought together leading voices in gospel, hiplife, dancehall, afrobeats, and more.
This year’s awards highlighted both emerging stars and established legends, showing the richness of Ghana’s evolving sound. From King Promise’s triumph as Artiste of the Year to Yaw Sarpong’s Lifetime Achievement honor, the ceremony delivered moments that celebrated artistry, creativity, and legacy.
Major Highlights
Stonebwoy continued to cement his dominance as he picked up the Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste award for the 10th time, alongside winning Best Reggae/Dancehall Song with Psalm 23. His music video Jejereje also secured the Best Music Video title, proving his versatility as both a performer and visual storyteller.
King Promise had one of his career’s biggest nights, sweeping the Artiste of the Year and Album/EP of the Year categories with his project True to Self. His afropop hit Paris also claimed Best Afropop Song, cementing his global appeal.
On the gospel front, Joe Mettle reaffirmed his position as a household name, winning Best Male Vocal Performance and Best Gospel Artiste, while Empress Gifty claimed Best Gospel Song with Watch Me. Team Eternity Ghana’s Defe Defe was recognized as Best Urban Gospel Song.
King Paluta, who has been enjoying a breakthrough year, also stood tall. His hit Aseda earned him the Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year, as well as Best Highlife Song. His talent as a lyricist was further acknowledged with the Best Songwriter of the Year award, making him one of the night’s most decorated artists.
Another talking point was OliveTheBoy, who retained the Best Afrobeats Song for the second consecutive year with Asylum. His consistency has confirmed him as one of the fast-rising stars shaping Ghana’s new wave of afrobeats.
The evening also honored Ghanaian gospel legend Yaw Sarpong with the Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating decades of inspirational music and service to the industry.

Competition in Key Categories
The Artiste of the Year category was hotly contested with nominees like Team Eternity Ghana, Stonebwoy, King Paluta, Black Sherif, Kweku Smoke, and Joe Mettle. However, King Promise’s impact with True to Self and his international appeal gave him the edge.
In Best Female Vocal Performance, Esther Godwyll triumphed over strong contenders such as Lordina the Soprano, Titi Owusu, and Mima Afrika, proving her talent with I Choose to Praise.
The Best Hiplife Song category saw tracks from Sarkodie, Black Sherif, and Eno Barony, but Tulenkey’s Bad Feeling stood out for its originality and resonance with fans.
Similarly, the Best Collaboration of the Year featured tough competition between Fly Girl by Beeztrap KOTM, Favourite Story by King Promise ft. Sarkodie & OliveTheBoy, and Amen by Sarkodie. In the end, KiDi and Black Sherif’s Lomo Lomo won with its infectious appeal.
